Syracuse Shock to host the NEPA Miners with the Division Title and Home Field Advantage on the line!
The North East Pennsylvania (NEPA) Miners after splitting two non-league games in the pre-season have won seven straight games putting the Miners (7-1 Overall) in position for the Empire Football League (EFL) regular season title. The Miners fresh after two weeks off will be on the road this Saturday, September 14th 7PM versus the Syracuse Shock (5-2) before their regular season finale September 21st versus the Glens Falls Green Jackets (1-4) at home. The Miners need to win one of the two games to become Division Champions and most importantly earning a first round bye and home field advantage for the playoffs. The Syracuse Shock who have won three straight in impressive fashion including a 26-0 victory at Watertown this past Saturday. After losing a heart breaker to the Miners 22-20 in Scranton back in August the Shock are hoping to win out and get help from Glens Falls who beat Vermont this weekend 34-0. The Shock will be led by the leagues leading rusher Justyn Hardwick who has 972 yards on 112 carries with five touchdowns. On Defense the Shock have been equally tough with linebacker Emery Kinsey who has 31 tackles and defensive lineman Zay Saffold who has four sacks and 15 tackles. The Miners are ranked 18th nationally by Minor League Football Newsand will have there biggest test of the regular season this Saturday.
