Miners prepare for EFL Road Trip
Miners 3-0 in the regular season (4-1 overall) are hot coming off of a four
game win streak that has the Miners ranked 21st in the nation by
Minor League Football News and 36th in the Amateur Football Power Rankings.
Last weekend the NEPA Miners rallied from a 14 point deficit to defeat the
Syracuse Shock 22-20 led by an 18 tackle performance by Corey Homer, big plays
from Donovan Palmer, touchdowns by John
Kudey, JP Antosh, McKenzy Rene and an overall team effort.
had one of their top performances at home versus the Vermont Ice Storm (0-3 EFL
1-4 Overall) 54-6 three weeks ago but anticipate a motivated and challenging
Vermont Ice Storm at their home field. Vermont’s trio of quarterback Brandon
Beliveau, running back Jason Young and receiver Akeem Williams will be looking
to spark the Ice Storm offense while linebacker/safety Gary Grant leads the Ice
Storm defense with 16 tackles, a sack and an interception. The Ice Storm will
have to find an answer for Miners Running Back Ahmad Shuler who is second in
the EFL in rushing with 246 yards and JP Antosh who is third in the league in
passing with 225 yards despite only starting in two games.
Miners news former kicker and punter Ken Parrish will make his 2013 NFL
preseason debut tonight for the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Miners nation will be
cheering for Kenny! The Miners will also return to PNC Field Thursday, August
22 for Football Night with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders for football
night. Fans will get to see the Miners PSA for the Distraction Advocate Network
while meeting NEPA Miners players and the Lady Miners Dance Team and
Promotional Models. The Miners have two road games before returning home to
Scranton Memorial Stadium Saturday, August 24th.
