Konstantine Argiriadi - Assistant Coach

Konstantine has been involved with minor league football since 2001. He played on both sides of the ball on the o-line and d-line with the Scranton eagles, Northern Tier Bruins. Konstantine was an assistant coach with the Scranton Eagles, Hudson valley Saints, New Jersey Wolves, and NEPA Miners. Konstantine was a two time captain for the Scranton Eagles and this is his second year as an assistant and special teams coach with the Miners.

Konstantine Argiriadi is the scholar of the coaching staff with a B.S. in Marketing Management from Long Island University/South Hampton College and an M.A. in Sport Management from the University of Connecticut. Coach Argiriadi also completed two years of a Ph.D. in Sports Management at Florida State University. Coach Argiriadi is employed by Family Enrichment Center in Scranton as therapeutic staff support.

Scott Carey, Sr. - Line Coach

The NEPA Miners welcome the addition of Scott Carey, Sr. to the staff. Scott played offensive and defensive line along with special teams for the Scranton Eagles during the eighties and early nineties when they won five national titles. Scott was a player/coach for the Eagles in the late nineties before hanging up the cleats and joining the Riverside Vikings staff as an assistant.

Scott is a life long resident of Old Forge and resides with his girlfriend Ellen and four children, Ashley, Scottie, Bethany and Sierra. Along with his passion for football, Scott works for Cook’s Wholesale foods and is an avid hunter, fisherman and little league baseball coach. Scott’s championship experience and versatility is an asset to the NEPA Miners and the Regional American Football League.

“BUTTONS BIO”
Buttons is a full-time professional clown, known for her bubbly personality and motivational entertainment. She brings smiles and laughter to children of all ages. Buttons specializes in Balloon Art, Face Painting, Tricks, Skits and just plain Clownin’ Around. She is also known as one of the areas finest face painters, learning from some of the best in the United States and Canada.
Buttons has developed her skills through frequent attendance of clown conventions, seminars and workshops throughout the East Coast. Clowning is NOT all about face painting and balloon art; it is about entertainment.
In September 2001, 2002 and 2005, Buttons achieved 3rd place for the Auguste Clown competition during the National Clown Arts Project, Seaside Heights, New Jersey. Due to her love and dedication for the Art of Clowning she was awarded a scholarship for continuing education from Clowns of America International. In 2006, Buttons received (1) First Place and (2) Third Place awards for her balloon art during “Clown Jubilee”, Charleston, West Virginia. In 2007, she took advanced face painting classes form Marcela Murad, Florida. Buttons continues to attend several conventions and workshops a year to offer the public quality entertainment. “The parties of yesterday are not the parties of tomorrow, we are constantly growing to offer our best entertainment ever.”

Buttons appears in Clowns of America International’s limited-edition release of a commemorative history book titled “COAI, 20 Years of Laughter”, available at www.turnerpublishing.com.


Marty Evans - Assistant Head Coach / Co Defensive Coordinator

Believing in God, Family and Country, having a wonderful wife of twenty-three years, three wonderful children, and a precious grandson (Poppy’s Boy) as well as being able to serve our US Army and our community for over twenty-five years. “My heart is happy and full of commitment with discipline and dedication to values and to stand for what is right.”

His success and wealth are not in an office or at the bank; they are in his actions in life. He is measured by what he gives from his heart, body, and mind to his family and friends. Also what he contributes to his country, love for football and all who he has shared his passion of the game. Billy Eynon - Assistant Coach

Billy Eynon brings coaching experience that started as an assistant coach in East Stroudsburg High School in 1968 before becoming an assistant at Abington Heights the following year. Billy was an assistant at Abington Heights and Bishop O’Hara before becoming the Head Coach at Abington Heights in 1989. Billy would be an assistant again at Bishop O’Hara and Mid Valley before shifting gears to Semi-Pro football with the Scranton Eagles as Offensive Line Coach in 1996. Coach Eynon then left to coach minor league football in the North American Football League with the Northern Tier Bruins. Billy was the Offensive Line Coach in 2004 and Head Coach of the Bruins in 2005.

The North East PA Miners welcome the experience, knowledge and character of Coach Eynon.  Billy has three grown children, Jeni, Mike and Elizabeth and is the proud grandfather of Emma Rose and Zachary.


Carm Flynn - Vice President of Development and Public Relations

Carm Flynn is behind the scenes directing the development and public relations for the team.Throughout his life, he has been in numerous leadership positions such as president of the South Williamsport, PA Jaycees, director of the PA Jaycees, founder and president of the South Williamsport Youth Sports Organization, board member of the PA Film Festival, and member of the boards of the Voluntary Action Center and The Northeast Theatre, along with many other advisory positions. Carm graduated from South Williamsport Area High School and Penn College with a major in Business Management.

Carm’s interests are broad and varied. He has participated in extensive martial arts studies and taught classes in the Art of Jujitsu to children in Central PA. Later, he became a student of the Dale Carnegie Institute and then taught personal development classes throughout Pennsylvania. He served on an advisory board and was an active instructor at a privately funded special needs children’s retreat in New York.

Carm has had operational, marketing, and sales management experience with various industries ranging from real estate to telecommunications. He is now serving as a sales trainer and consultant for area businesses.

As VP of the NEPA Miners he will be instrumental in developing the sales and marketing efforts of the team and working closely with the owners and advisory committee in the overall growth of the team. Carm and his family reside in Moscow, PA.

Travis Grobes - Co Defensive Coordinator / Defensive Backs

Travis Grobes comes to the NEPA Miners with ample experience and knowledge of the game he loves. After six straight seasons in Minor League ranks, as a player, spanning between 1999-2005 he brings 1 National Championship, 5 Empire Football League All-Star awards and numerous recognitions for his intricate role in any team that he is associated with. Most recently Travis played with the PFL 6 Stallions and led the team to a playoff birth. While taking on the task of a new position was named Northern Division MVP, and All-Star Quarterback.

After crossing over from player to coach Travis has been devoted to all of his endeavors and primarily to the players he coaches. His experience ranges from developing and molding new semi-pro teams to assisting in operations and coaching for the 2005 NAFL Combine. Travis also enjoys coaching the newly developing football talent on the Pittston Panthers Pee-wee football team.

Travis has three wonderful children and his wife Jamie that have played a pivotal role in his success as they remain his drive and determination in life. They look forward to assisting with the team’s development and are sure to bring joy to the field.

Donnie Jackson-Bey

Career Highlights:

  • 1997-2002: After playing college football with Lackawanna College and Delaware State, Jack­son-Bey runs for 8,917 yards and 107 touchdowns in six seasons with the Empire Football League’s Scranton Eagles. In 1999, he rushes for a career-high 2,433 yards (second-highest total in na­tional minor league football history) on a national-record 393 rushes as he leads the Eagles to the EFL championship.
  • 2003-2004: Playing for the Northern Tier Bruins under former Scranton coach Mark Arcure, Jack­son-Bey runs for 3,512 yards and 33 touchdowns in two seasons.
    In 2004, Jackson-Bey rushes for 1,942 yards and 20 touchdowns, including 77 yards on 20 carries and a score to lead the Bruins to a 14-7 victory over the North Carolina Eagles to win the United States Football Association championship.
  • 2005: Coached by current NEPA Miners coach Dan LaMagna, Jackson-Bey runs for 1,200 yards and eight touchdowns for the Southern Tier Green Machine.
  • 2006: Jackson-Bey runs for 1,337 yards and six touchdowns for the Hudson Valley Saints, leav­ing him just 336 yards shy of break­ing former Scranton Eagle Frank Yanik’s national record for career rushing yards.
  • July 2007: Playing for the NEPA Miners, Jackson-Bey runs for 134 yards in a 37-0 victory over the Hudson County Stars, giving him 15,302 career yards, one more than Yanik.

John Jenkins - Quality Control

John Jenkins has been behind the scenes for many years as a member of Coach LaMagna’s Staff. John has handled everything from statistics, media relations, quality control and technical aspects of coaching. John has taken his skills to Lackawanna College and assisted during the Falcons undefeated championship season in 2006. John will continue to assist Coach LaMagna with video and films for the upcoming Miners season along with his work at Lackawanna College. John has utilized his skills at Arlington Industries for the past seven years, and is a graduate of Pennsylvania college of Technology.

John currently resides in Jessup, PA with his wife Kerry and two children Molly and Damian.


Michele LaMagna - General Manager

Michele LaMagna is the General Manager for our NEPA Miners, and will use her educational and professional background to lead the Miners school reading programs, community service projects and event management. Michele will coordinate the relationship between the NEPA Miners and many local organizations to provide community service year round in the school districts and communities of North Eastern Pennsylvania. Michele has extensive experiences working with a wide array of children and families in various settings. Michele has also volunteered for the American Cancer Society as was the Chair Person for this years Scranton Relay for Life.

Michele LaMagna obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and completed her Masters of Science degree in Reading Education. She is currently an Elementary Education teacher in the Abington Heights School District. Michele resides in Scranton with her husband and the owner of the NEPA Miners, Daniel LaMagna.

Daniel LaMagna - President and Head Coach / Offensive Coordinator

Daniel LaMagna is the President and Head Coach / Offensive Coordinator of the North East PA Miners Football and Sports Entertainment organization. He is a football aficionado who is highly educated and specializes in marketing, interpersonal skills and sport management. Daniel and his staff have coached and/or played for seven different minor league organizations. Daniel has contributed thousands of dollars in personal funds and united with the Regional American Football League (RAFL) to advance the operations of the franchise.

Daniel LaMagna completed an undefeated regular season winning the North Eastern Football Conference and Valley of the Sun Bowl Championship as part of the Lackawanna College football staff in 2006. He handled the Falcon offensive backfield that led the conference in rushing. He has held head coaching and offensive coordinator positions with three minor league teams as well as assistant coaching positions at the High School and Semi-Pro Level.

Dan is a 1995 graduate of Lakeland High School where he participated in football. Dan also participated in football at East Stroudsburg University, where he graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and received a Masters of Science in Sport Management in 2007. LaMagna also played minor league football for several seasons while attending tryouts in the Arena and Canadian football leagues. Dan is a resident of Scranton, PA with his wife Michele and is employed by Lackawanna College as a Career Coordinator. Mr. LaMagna is a member of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, the German-American Federation and a past member of Business Network International.  Coach represents the Miners as a League Representative and Business Manager for the Regional American Football League.

Joseph Michael - Team Doctor (Wilkes-Barre)

doc_cyy.jpgDr. Joseph Michael had been a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic in the state of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York since 1997. His scope of practice encompasses both young and old, from infants to senior citizens with an emphasis on family treatment in a warm, caring and friendly environment dedicated to personal attention. Dr. Michael’s office is located in Wilkes-Barre PA and has been the home of Coach LaMagna and his athletes since 1999. Dr. Michael lettered in four years of collegiate hockey and soccer and has a graduate degree from New York Chiropractic College.

Northeast Pennsylvania Football
The North East Pennsylvania (NEPA) Miners are a minor league football team bringing a first of its kind football league to North Eastern Pennsylvania that will set the Miners apart from their competitors. While the Miners represent all of North East Pennsylvania, their basis of operations is the Poconos, encompassing the areas of Wilkes-Barre and Scranton. The Miners play in the Regional Atlantic Football League (RAFL) with home games at the area’s finest facilities.
The Miners’ goal is to serve the people of North East Pennsylvania with year-round community service while providing superior customer service and quality family entertainment on Saturday nights during the football season. Led by their President and Head Coach Daniel LaMagna and supported by Charlie Wysocki — a Wilkes-Barre native and legendary football player — the Miners aim to exemplify the utmost in sportsmanship while entertaining their fans.
