Coach Marino is a graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School where he played football and earned All-Conference First Team Defense honors. He also was on the track team were he won back-to-back District 12 shot put championships. Coach Marino has been coaching football for over 12 years, getting his start with youth football. For seven years prior to the Miners he was coaching at Susquehanna Community High School. While at Susquehanna he has coached everything from Junior High to Varsity. He has coached offensive line, defensive line, and wide receivers. He also coached Little League and Junior High baseball for several years. Coach Marino started assisting the Miners offensive line before becoming the teams defensive coordinator during the 2012 season. Coach will return in 2013 as the teams defensive coordinator with big expectations as the defense played well in his first season with the Miners.
Coach Marino is married to the Band Director at Susquehanna and they have two children. His son, Jon-Michael, played under his tutelage and is entering the Air Force for SERE training. His daughter, Kayla, is one of the few elementary students who plays for the marching/pep band at Susquehanna.
