Daniel LaMagna is the original founder, Vice President and PR/Marketing director of the North East PA Miners Football and Sports Entertainment organization. Dan was the Head Coach of the Miners every season except 2009 before finally hanging up the coaching whistle after the 2011 season to assist in restructuring the Miners as Non-Profit organization and focusing on business operations full time. Dan has won various awards including most recently being inducted into the 2013 AAA Minor League Football Hall of Fame Class, Small Business Spotlight and Young Entrepreneur honorable mention along with the NEPA Miners winning 2007 Best New Team on the East Coast by Minor League Football news. Dan LaMagna completed an undefeated regular season winning the North Eastern Football Conference and Valley of the Sun Bowl Championship as part of the Lackawanna College football staff in 2006. He handled the Falcon offensive backfield that led the conference in rushing. He has held head coaching and offensive coordinator positions with three minor league teams as well as assistant coaching positions at the High School, College and Semi-Professional Level. Dan is a 1995 graduate of Lakeland High School where he led the football team in all receiving categories. Dan also participated in football at East Stroudsburg University, where he graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and received a Masters of Science in Sport Management in 2007. Dan LaMagna also played minor league football for several seasons while attending tryouts in the Arena and Canadian football leagues. Dan is a resident of Scranton, PA with his wife Michele, son Brayden and is employed by Lackawanna College as the Dean of Students. Mr. LaMagna is active in the community as the Chairman of the NEPA Fellowship of Christian Athletes, he served as Vice President for POWER!Scranton and most recently graduated from the 2012-2013 core class for Leadership Lackawanna. The Northeast PA Business Journal listed him in their 2013 Top 20 Under 40 list. He is most proud that the NEPA Miners have supported over forty community groups volunteering time and raising money through Miners games and participation at charitable events.Mr. LaMagna and the Miners have been pioneers for marketing and entertainment at the semi-professional football level and are currently working towards the transition to be a part of the Ultimate Sports Group where the Miners will play our home games inside a dome and mega sports complex located at the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs scheduled to come to NEPA between 2013-2014.
